Scholarship awarding ceremony

ZIS’ SUCCESS STORY GOES ON…

Zaman International School held another awarding ceremony. The third place in the National and International Examinations was received by the students at their campus on September 10, 2016. The event was also attended by the awardees’ parents and ZIS staff members who played relevant roles in the students’ success.

The students studying Bilingual Science and Bilingual Social Studies Programmes at ZIS took the National Examinations. All of the 96 students who took the exams this year did an outstanding job by passing the test. Furthermore, 47 of them were chosen as high-achievers by getting high scores. Those students were awarded certificates for their remarkable effort and hard work.

As a Cambridge International Examinations centre, ZIS has been offering Cambridge Checkpoint, Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS and A Level exams since 2011.

Cambridge programmes prepare students for life helping them develop an informed curiosity and lasting passion for learning. Cambridge helps students become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged. Ready to tackle the demands of tomorrow’s world, capable of shaping a better world for the future. Therefore, success with Cambridge opens doors to the world’s best universities – in the US, the UK, Australia, Canada and so on. It’s what you’d expect from an organisation that is part of the world-leading University of Cambridge.

In May/June series of 2016, ZIS students had Cambridge IGCSE exams in 9 different subjects, 4 of which were offered for the first time. While the previous graders took English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, the exam takers in June series had a variety of subjects to choose from such as Information and Communication Technology, Art and Design, History and Economics. The students registered for the preparatory courses offered as afterschool programmes to solve the past papers and do exercises to succeed.

The tests were marked by Cambridge and provided the examinee an external international benchmark for learner performance. Each learner receives a statement of achievement and a certificate giving schools detailed information and parents extra trust in the feedback they receive.

In addition to motivating the students to do well in the national and international examinations, ZIS takes pride in awarding 100% scholarship to the diligent students who obtained the high scores in Grade 9 Smart Students Exam and managed to achieve 6.0 in three subjects of Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Exam.

ZIS offered full scholarship totalling $45.940 to 8 students for this academic year. With this regard, ZIS congratulates all the outstanding students on their success and extends their gratitude to the parents and teachers for their contribution in helping the students realize their potentials.
